Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Introduces New Online Catalog

(02/21/2024) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library has launched a new online library catalog with a streamlined layout and Smart Search features.

Known as Vega Discover, the catalog is a convenient tool for navigating the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s collection of digital and physical materials. The online catalog is integrated into the library website and app and can be accessed from in-library computers and from a tablet, laptop, or smart phone at home.

The catalog’s new format makes it easier to quickly find items, create reading lists, bookmark items to save for later, and access digital library materials such as eBooks.

Features of the Vega Discover catalog include:

• A user-friendly design and streamlined Search results. Different formats (Book, Large Type Book, eBook, Audiobook, etc.) of the same title are displayed together so the patron can quickly see which formats have available copies of the title.
• Enhanced Search results. Search results also include sections that list related items, such as those on similar topics or by similar authors, making it easy to find more great reads.
• A convenient Place Hold button that shows the number of copies of an item the library has available and the number of people who have placed a Hold on an item.
• Reading levels are displayed for most children’s books.
• Improved website accessibility.
• A comprehensive Vega Discover help site with practical step-by-step directions for frequently asked questions and common topics.

For a personalized user experience, library cardholders can log in to their account and choose to save frequent Catalog searches, create custom reading lists, bookmark items for later, and place and manage Holds.
