Maker Studio

The Maker Studio provides access to cutting-edge equipment for free or little cost to our community’s creators, hobbyists, and entrepreneurs to pursue their creative, artistic, and educational goals with technology and hands-on learning.


Workshops

Free workshops are regularly scheduled on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 PM and on Saturdays from 2 – 4 PM to provide an introduction to specific pieces of equipment. Workshops are posted on the full Warren Library calendar, or call the Maker Studio for upcoming session topics: (330) 399-88007 ext. 215.

Maker Studio Terms of Use

  • The Maker Studio is available to W-TCPL cardholders in good standing, ages 16 and older. Children and teens under age 16 must be actively supervised by an adult (parent/guardian/caregiver) at all times.
  • Appointments are preferred in order to reserve time with each piece of equipment. Equipment that has not been reserved may be available for walk-in use on a first-come, first-served basis, and based on library staff availability.
  • Patrons must complete an orientation session with a library staff member and sign a waiver before using equipment. The Maker Studio contains equipment with risks including, but not limited to: rotating and moving machinery; sharp tools and blades; hot objects; and eye, lung, and trip hazards. Patrons use the Maker Studio at their own risk.
  • The Maker Studio is not responsible for the quality or condition of created items and any fees paid will not be refunded in the event the patron is dissatisfied with the finished item.
  • Patrons must save any electronic files on their own storage media or cloud storage; library computers and devices will delete all patron files after each session.
  • Maker Studio equipment may not be used to create materials that are illegal or may be construed as obscene or to create objects that may be construed as having intent to harm, including weapons of any kind or parts/components of weapons.

The cost to print a 3D model is $0.25 per 15 minutes of printing, with a maximum print time of 10 hours per print.

3D printing is the construction of a three-dimensional object from a digital model. The Maker Studio has a Prusa i3 MK3S+ 3D printer. Our printer uses PLA filament. You can download model files from popular 3D communities such as Thingiverse and Printables or you can create a model yourself with free programs like Tinkercad and SketchUp.

The cost to purchase one 1.5″ diameter button is $0.50 per button.

Create custom buttons with our button maker! Your finished pin-back button will be 1.50″ in diameter.

We can provide a button template for you to create your own unique designs.

The Cricut Maker 3 allows you to create customized projects with precision using digital designs.

It’s a multipurpose device that can cut, write, and score various materials.

The Cricut EasyPress 3 is a heat press that combines the speed of a heat press with the convenience of an iron.

It’s portable, lightweight, and easy to use.

The EasyPress 3 is compatible with most heat-transfer vinyl.

The cost to purchase an 8.5″ X 11″, 3-mil thick laminating pouch is $0.50 per page/pouch.

Laminators let you preserve and protect important documents. You can make menus, signs and flyers durable. Quickly and easily laminate photos, business cards and certificates using our Fellowes Saturn 3i machine.

The Maker Studio has a 6’ x 6’ WhisperRoom booth you can use to record podcasts, voiceover audio, or film a video.

It features a PC with 34” curved monitor, Adobe software and Audacity, DaVinci Resolve, 4k webcam, ring light, and microphone.

The SE700 allows you to sew and embroider, with 135 built-in designs, 10 embroidery lettering fonts, and 103 built-in sewing stitches for personalizing your projects.

You can also transfer your own embroidery design files to the machine.
