Aloha! Luau-Themed Grand Opening Event Sept. 13 at Eastwood Mall Library

(08/12/2025) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) will celebrate the grand opening of its new library branch located inside the Eastwood Mall with a luau-themed party from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 13, for all ages.

The event will take place at the library located in the JCPenney concourse near the children’s play area at the Eastwood Mall, 5555 Youngstown Warren Rd, in Niles.

Guests can tour the new library, sign up for a library card, and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at the mall. At 12 p.m., there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and between 12 and 3 p.m., visitors can enjoy island-themed games and crafts in the mall concourse. At 1 p.m., there will be a Lilo & Stitch Storytime with character Meet-and-Greets to follow. From 2 to 3 p.m., guests can groove to live music with Ukulele Artist Paulette Darko. Guests can also enjoy refreshments and giveaways throughout the day.

The celebration is free and open to the public.

“This branch represents a new way to connect with our community,” said Jim Wilkins, W-TCPL Executive Director. “We’re bringing the library into the heart of where people already gather, and we’re excited to celebrate this new space.”

Opening on Sept. 2, the Eastwood Mall Library will offer a welcoming space for reading, learning, and connection. A wide selection of books, movies, and other library materials will be available for checkout and return; Internet-accessible computers and printers will be available for public use; and an ongoing schedule of programming for children, teens, and adults will be offered.
