Warren Library to Host Family Book Day on March 23

(03/12/2024) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s Family Book Day event on Sat., March 23, will include guest authors, a puppet show, a local author fair, a visit from Clifford the Big Red Dog, and more free activities for all ages between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW.

Family Book Day will kick off at 11 a.m. with a presentation by featured speaker author Justin A. Reynolds. “Opposite of Always,” his debut novel, was an Indies Introduce Top Ten Debut, a School Library Journal Best Book, translated into 19 languages, and is being developed for film with Paramount Players. His Marvel graphic novel debut featuring Brooklyn’s Spider-Man, “Miles Morales: Shock Waves,” was an instant ABA Indie Bestseller. Copies of his books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

A local author fair between 12 and 4 p.m. will be a new feature at Family Book Day this year. Fourteen invited local authors will display and sell their books and talk about the writing process.

Professional storyteller and children’s book author Lindsay Bonilla will present folktales at 1 p.m. in an event for all ages, and copies of her newest book, “The Storyteller,” will be available for purchase and signing.

At 3 p.m., the library’s Youth Services team of puppeteers will present an entertaining puppet show little ones will especially enjoy!

Children and grownups can meet Clifford the Big Red Dog at 2:30 p.m. or at 3:30 p.m. when he visits the library courtesy of PBS Western Reserve.

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Bookmobile will be in the library parking lot and open for tours throughout the day.

Food will be available for purchase between 12 and 3 p.m. from The Little Red Food Truck and from Mijavec’s Catering & Concessions, which will both be stationed in the library parking lot.

Each child and teen ages 0 – 18 who attends Family Book Day can receive one free new book to keep!
