Each participant should bring a copy of a short story, book chapter, poem, play, or any form of creative writing that they created and would like to share. Please limit to 5 pages. After each reading, the group will offer gentle feedback on the piece. Registration is required and is limited. For adults who have never used a computer before. Learn how to use a mouse and keyboard, how to turn a computer on and off, and what parts make up a computer. You can book a 30-minute session with a library staff member who will answer your questions and walk you through what you'd like to do. Examples include learning how to move files to a flash drive, save photos in the cloud, or navigate a new phone. At the Warren Library: Call the Public Computer Lab at (330) 399-8807 ext. 201 to reserve your appointment time. Appointments will be held in either the Classroom or the Public Computer Lab on the library's 2nd floor.

“The Last Full Measure” Movie Showing @ Warren Library

The Last Full Measure (Lions Gate Films, Inc., 2019. Rated R . Runtime 116 minutes.) This film chronicles the true story of William H. Pitsenbarger (from Piqua, Ohio), a U.S. Air Force medic who personally saved over sixty men before making the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam's bloodiest battle. Three decades later, Pentagon staffer Scott Huffman investigates a Congressional Medal of Honor request made by Pitsenbarger's mission partner and parents. Huffman interviews Army veterans to learn more about Pitsenbarger's courageous acts - and uncovers a high-level conspiracy behind the medal's denial. A brief, optional discussion will follow the movie.

Kent State University professors Laura Davis and Mark Seeman - each closely connected to and deeply knowledgeable about the Kent State shootings - will delve into essential questions that continue to be asked 53 years after May 4, 1970. "Why did the guardsmen shoot?" The backdrop of the Sixties (that is, 1954-1975) helps us understand. "What do we know, and how do we know it?" Key facts explain. "Why didn't students leave the Commons when they were ordered to do so?" Our discussion will seek to provide the answer.
