Youngstown State University professor Dolores V. Sisco, an expert on African American Literature and Culture, will discuss some of the books that illuminate the Black experience in America, and how these books tie into what is going on currently with book bans at public libraries. Free!
Need some help learning how to do something on a computer, tablet, or smartphone? You can book a 30-minute session with a library staff member who will answer your questions and walk you through what you'd like to do. Examples include learning how to send an email, share a photo, or borrow eBooks from the library. If it’s Thursday, it’s Game Night in Teen Central! Teens in grades 7 - 12 may join us for video games, board games, collectible card games, Minecraft, and more. We’ll also be rolling dice and playing Dungeons & Dragons on the first Thursday of every month.
Tweens can explore their techie interests at Tween Tech Night. The first 30 minutes are guided instruction, and the rest of the time tweens can explore different technologies and coding in both digital and analog ways. Drop in at any time during posted hours. For children ages 9 — 12.
Children learn through play. Have some fun and build young brains at our open play hours. We will provide a variety of playful learning experiences through toys, games, and other activity stations. Drop in anytime during posted hours. For children ages 19 months — 5 years with a caregiver.
