New Card Connect Program offers Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Cardholders savings at local businesses

(01/24/2024) – Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) cardholders save money every time they use their library card to borrow books, movies, and other library materials instead of purchasing them, and a new program with local businesses offers cardholders the opportunity for even greater savings.

The Library Card Connect Program is a new W-TCPL partnership with local businesses to offer library cardholders special savings at those businesses. An individual can show their W-TCPL Library Card at participating businesses to receive discounts or other types of savings on goods and services purchased at the business.

“A library card already offers tremendous savings by allowing you to borrow items such as books, DVDs, and magazines, and to access digital audiobooks, movies, and music,” W-TCPL Executive Director Jim Wilkins said. “We believe this new program is a natural partnership with local businesses to offer additional savings for our library cardholders.”

Each participating business sets its own discount – such as 10% off total purchase, $1 off purchase of 1 item, or Buy 1/Get 1 half off – that they are offering when an individual presents their W-TCPL Library Card at the business. A complete list of the participating restaurants, retail, and service businesses and the discount or incentive offered at each is posted on the library website at WWW.WTCPL.ORG.

“We look forward to continuing to add more businesses throughout Trumbull County as the Library Card Connect Program grows,” Wilkins said.

Local business owners who would like to participate in the Library Card Connect Program may contact the W-TCPL Marketing & Public Relations Department at (330) 399-8807 ext. 128.

Anyone who lives, works, or goes to school in Ohio is eligible to sign up for a free W-TCPL library card. The W-TCPL includes libraries in Warren, Lordstown, Liberty, Howland, Cortland, and Brookfield; a Bookmobile; Library-By-Mail service; and a digital library collection through WWW.WTCPL.ORG.
