Library Cards for Kids
Juvenile Library Card – There are no age requirements for a W-TCPL library card, however, a parent must have a card in order to sign up their child. For more information, see how to Get a Library Card.
Take2 Card Option – All W-TCPL locations also offer a Take2 Card for children and teens age 17 or younger without a parental or legal guardian signature. A maximum of two print items may be borrowed on the card. The card may also be used to access online resources and computers. The Take2 card holder must be present to use the card in the library.
Teacher Totes
A Teacher Tote is a librarian-selected collection of children’s trade books and other library materials relating to one subject. Totes are designed to supplement textbooks and enrich curriculum. It is our goal that through this service, learning will be enhanced and both teacher and students will become more aware of what the public library has to offer.
Assignment Alerts
An Assignment Alert lets your local branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library know in advance when you and your students will need materials for class assignments. Though our resources are limited in quantities (for example, we won’t have 30 copies of one title), the librarians can best help your students by identifying resources and related materials that will be available and useful.

Reading Resources
Novelist K-8 Plus (IN LIBRARY or AT HOME) – This children’s literature database includes recommended reads and “If You Like…” lists.
Scholastic Teachables (IN LIBRARY or AT HOME) – Scholastic Teachables is an online database of 25,000 searchable and printable educational materials. Created by teachers, these ready-to‑use resources support parents preparing kids for kindergarten readiness, homeschool teachers, and learners from Pre-K to grade 6. Download printable activity sheets, mini-books, educational crafts, lesson plans, puzzles, and more on a variety of subjects and themes.

Reviews & Suggestions
ReadKiddoRead – James Patterson’s website provides excellent suggested reading lists by age. There’s something for every reader.
What’s Next: Books in Series – What book comes next in the series you’re reading? Find out with this database by the Kent District Library.
Commonsense Media – Parents can search for reviews that give information about age appropriateness of children’s materials (3 free reviews per month; unlimited access requires a membership).
