Free Summer Reading & Learning Program May 30 – July 29, 2023

(05/30/2023) – All ages are invited to read for fun and prizes May 30 – July 29, 2023, through the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library’s annual free Summer Reading & Learning Program.

The theme for the 2023 Summer Reading & Learning Program is “All Together Now,” inviting us to share fun learning experiences, work together to help the community, and encourage kindness and unity. A variety of events including live music, informative speakers, puppet shows, entertaining storytimes, and more special programs will be offered throughout the summer.

The Tadpole Club is a summer reading program specially for younger children up to age 3. Parents and caregivers can share literacy-based activities with their little one for a prize!

Children ages 3 to 12 can earn prizes for reading at home and keeping track of their reading with a Reading & Learning Challenge BINGO game. Kids complete activities in five boxes in a row (Read for 20 Minutes, Read or Write a Poem, etc.) to get a BINGO. Get at least 1 BINGO to win a toy prize! Get at least 2 BINGOs to win a book prize! Get at least 3, 4, or 5 BINGOs to enter the Grand Prize gift card drawing!

Teens entering grades 7 – 12 can try new things and read to receive a prize pack, an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing, and an invitation to the After Hours Event for their Summer Challenge.

Adults can also participate in summer reading by completing a book review slip for each book read or listened to for the opportunity to be entered in prize drawings.

To participate in the Summer Reading & Learning Program, visit a W-TCPL library in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, Lordstown, or Warren or the Bookmobile. A convenient online option for children, teens, and adults who would like to virtually participate in the Summer Reading Program is available through READSquared. Simply visit WTCPL.READSQUARED.COM to get started. It is free to create a personal account in ReadSquared to record reading activities, track progress, and even earn digital badges to celebrate summer reading. Prizes can then be collected at any W-TCPL location.
