The Great Hopewell Road: Ohio’s Ancient Superhighway @ Warren Library and Online via Zoom

November 16, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Meets in the Harding Room; and via Zoom.

The Great Hopewell Road was a set of parallel earthen walls built by the Hopewell people who lived in Ohio circa A.D. 1- 400, running from the monumental Newark Earthworks southwest in a remarkably straight line. The road’s ultimate destination is a mystery, but it may have been a route of pilgrimage connecting the two grandest centers of the Hopewell world.

Presented by Brad Lepper, Senior Archaeologist for the World Heritage Program, at Ohio History Connection.

This program is made possible in part by Ohio Humanities, a State Affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Registration is optional if you’re joining in person, but required if joining via Zoom. To sign up, call (330) 399-8807 ext. 200 or email REF@WTCPL.ORG. Free!
