Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Begins America 250 Celebration
(01/05/2026) – The community is invited to join the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library system (W-TCPL) in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary throughout 2026 by discovering the stories that shaped our nation.
Library patrons can explore American history through the W-TCPL’s new America 250: Passport to History program. The free program features a curated selection of books and videos that highlight defining moments and voices from the nation’s past. Participants can track the history-related books they read or movies they watch to earn a small commemorative keepsake, while supplies last. Stop by any W-TCPL location to pick up a Passport to History booklet and participate in the program.
To honor this significant national milestone, the W-TCPL will also host a wide range of special programming throughout 2026, including book discussions, guest speakers, and more engaging events focused on America’s unique history.
An America 250 Kickoff Eras Party will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 14, at the Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW in Warren. Adults can drop in for snacks and games from different eras of American history. Guests are asked to register online at www.wtcpl.org/events or call (330) 399-8807 ext. 200 to sign up for this free event.
The Warren Library will host a free presentation at 2 p.m. on Sat., Jan. 24, about the history of the NASA Glenn Research Center. Robin Unger, a librarian at the NASA Glenn Research Center, will answer the question of why NASA is in Cleveland and explain its Cleveland origin. No registration necessary for this free America 250-Ohio program.
Visit www.wtcpl.org/events to view a list of more upcoming events scheduled at all W-TCPL locations.
As part of America’s 250th anniversary, the W-TCPL Local History & Genealogy Center will be celebrating the role our community has played in the nation’s history by highlighting people and places that have shaped Trumbull County. Historic photos from the library’s archives will be featured on social media each week, pairing the photos with the stories behind them.
