Howland Library Temporarily Closing Beginning Sept. 8 for Renovation and Expansion Project

(08/24/2026) – The Howland Library, 9095 East Market St., will be closed to the public beginning Tues., Sept. 8, to accommodate construction during the library’s expansion and renovation project.

Work began in July on the project that will add 1,400 square feet onto the Howland Library building, renovate the interior, and make critical infrastructure updates. The library is expected to reopen in spring 2027.

The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library will continue to serve the Howland community during the library closure by adding two weekly local Bookmobile stops. Community members are welcome to visit the Bookmobile at: Richard E. Orwig Park, 8189 E. Market St. in Howland, between 3 and 6 p.m. every Tuesday beginning Sept. 8; and at the Medici Museum of Art, 9350 E. Market St. in Howland, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Thursday beginning Sept. 10. Warren-Trumbull County Public Library cardholders can borrow books and movies, pick up requested library items, and return items on the Bookmobile.

The library will continue its weekly Outdoor Storytime at the Rotary Pavilion in Howland Community Park (2000 Rosegarden Dr. NE) this fall. Families with children ages 6 months to 6 years will enjoy stories, songs, and fun at 10 a.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 28.
