Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Introduces Library of Things Collection

(04/02/2025) – The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library (W-TCPL) is introducing a non-traditional collection of tools, gadgets, and games that can be checked out from the library for customers to learn a new skill, enjoy a hobby, access a technology, or complete a short-term project.

Items in the Library of Things collection are categorized as Craft & Hobby, Games & Recreation, Home & Vehicle, and Technology & Audiovisual. There are currently 27 items in the collection, including: a bocce ball set, Sphero Mini, pickleball paddles, a knitting loom set, a wall stud finder, digital film scanner, and a set of driving cones. The complete list of Library of Things items is available at any W-TCPL location or on the library website at www.wtcpl.org.

Up to five Library of Things items may be checked out at one time. All Library of Things items check out for 21 days. No renewals are permitted on items in the Library of Things collection. Adult full-service library cardholders age 18 and older may borrow both adult and juvenile items in the Library of Things collection; juvenile full-service library cardholders may borrow only juvenile items.

Library of Things items can be directly checked out from the Warren Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW, or may be requested through the library’s online catalog for pickup at any W-TCPL location. To search the Library of Things collection and place a hold on an item, visit www.wtcpl.org.

Additional items will continue to be added to the Library of Things collection based on customer feedback.

The W-TCPL includes locations in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty, Lordstown, and Warren; a Bookmobile; and Library-by-Mail service.
