Information for Borrowers
The preferred method for all check out of materials is for library customers to have their card in hand. If a customer does not have either his/her physical library card in hand or the barcode stored on a barcode scanning device, a photo ID may be used for checking out.
If a particular item you seek is out on loan, you may place a reserve or hold on the item. Holds may be placed in person and/or over the phone with staff assistance or customers can do it themselves in the library's online catalog with their library card barcode.
Customers will be notified by print notice, telephone, or email/text when a hold is ready for pickup. This is a free service.
Materials not owned by the W-TCPL can often be borrowed for the customer from another library in Ohio (through the SearchOhio or OhioLink services) or beyond (through Interlibrary Loan service). These are all free services. Please ask us if you can't find something through one of these options in the Library Catalog.
Many materials may be renewed up to three times if no other customers have placed a reserve or hold. One exception: New Entertainment DVDs are not able to be renewed.
Customers will be charged the replacement cost plus a processing fee for each lost or damaged item. An item is considered lost when it is 42 days overdue. Accounts over $10 and 60 days overdue will be sent to a collection agency. Collection fees will be passed on to the customer.
